90% of plastic polluting our oceans comes from just 10 rivers, the Mekong river is listed among them.  Cambodia has three major rivers, Mekong Bassac and Tonlé Sap which naturally formed a perfect flow cutting across the country from the north,  the northwest down to the south. All rivers confluence right in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Cambodia’s economy is depending on the functioning of these rivers. Keeping rivers clean is our social responsibility as a Cambodian. We invite YOU individual, group, institution to the Mega River Cleanup to remove all legacy plastic waste from the three rivers within Phnom Penh’s administrative area and scale up as the resource becomes availble.
